Storm Damage Repair in Meyerland: Missing Ridge Shingles and Wet Decking

The homeowner called after a March storm had peeled a stretch of ridge shingles clean off. Water had been getting into the attic for days, and the decking below the ridge was soft in three spots. We wrote the price before any work started, pulled the damaged shingles, replaced two sheets of plywood decking, and reworked the ridge with new shingles and a continuous ridge vent. We also caught two nail pops near the chimney that would have leaked within a year. Total job done in one day, and the ridge is now the strongest line on the roof.

Flat Roof Leak Repair in Sharpstown: Failed Torch-Down on a Carport Addition

The carport roof had been leaking onto the homeowner’s truck for two months before we got the call. The old torch-down was cracked in a spiderweb pattern, and the drain scupper was set too high, so water pooled in the low corner. We stripped the failed membrane, reset the scupper height, and installed a white TPO system that reflects heat instead of absorbing it. That matters in Sharpstown in August, when a dark flat roof can push attic temperatures past 140 degrees. The leak is gone and the garage stays 15 degrees cooler.

Chimney Flashing Replacement in Spring Branch: Rusted Step Flashing and a Persistent Ceiling Stain

The step flashing at the chimney was rusted through in three places, and the old caulk had turned brittle from Houston UV exposure. We removed the old flashing, cut in new step flashing, and locked it under a new counter flashing with the proper overlap. Ventilation Correction in Katy: Ridge Vent With No Intake

A previous roofer had installed a ridge vent without checking whether the soffits were vented. They weren’t, so the ridge vent was doing nothing except letting wind whistle through the attic. The homeowner’s upstairs AC was running almost nonstop in July. We cut in continuous soffit baffles, cleared the insulation from the eave area, and verified airflow with a smoke test at both ends of the attic. The roof wasn’t leaking, but it was still failing the homeowner every month on the electric bill. Now the system pushes heat out the way it’s supposed to.
